The Bond Group - working to protect our environment
Each year the world is affected by climate change attributed to the release of harmful Chloro Fluoro Carbons (CFC) into the atmosphere from leaking refrigeration and cabinet insulation breakdown. Add this to the looming shortage in natural materials and the result is a problem of global proportions.
In 2001, legislation was passed to environmentally regulate and monitor the safe disposal of refrigeration equipment containing ODS (Ozone Depleting Substances) and also to ensure that materials used within the construction of cabinets including copper, steel, plastics and aluminium are recycled.
The Bond Group was one of the very first companies to embrace the new legislation and develop a complete end-of-life cabinet disposal service.
Working closely with government advisory bodies and legislators such as DEFRA and the Environment Agency, The Bond Group has met and exceeded all criteria, and now offers a peace of mind service to ensure that when customers wish to dispose of their redundant equipment, every process is carried out with 'due diligence'. Every cabinet disposed of is logged and has the appropriate duty of care certificates issued and confirm that all criteria have been met safely.
In 2003, in recognition of the pioneering work carried out by The Bond Group in the field of cabinet decommissioning, Bond were awarded the prestigious 'Environmental Initiative Award'
The industry bible, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration News give the award with scrutiny from an executive panel of refrigeration industry experts. To view a recent article about the award click here.
